  • Parental Role: Parents or guardians can attend meetings and help their children complete "adventures" to earn rank badges.

  • Key Activities: Racing Pinewood Derby cars, nature hikes, basic camping, and community service projects.

  • The Motto: "Do Your Best"

Park City Troop 72

Ages: 11–17, Girls and Boys

Scouts is the traditional "scouting" experience that emphasizes independence and high-adventure outdoor activities.

  • Structure: Scouts are organized into Patrols, which are part of a Troop.

  • Youth-Led: Unlike Cub Scouts, the youth members elect their own leaders and plan their own meetings and trips under the guidance of adult Scoutmasters.

  • Advancement: Scouts earn merit badges in over 135 subjects—from archery to welding—while working toward the prestigious Eagle Scout rank.

  • Outdoor Focus: Expect more intense activities like backpacking, whitewater rafting, and long-term summer camps.
